Tips to clear iCloud Storage on iPhone

Apple provides 5GB free storage to every iCloud account, which doesn't seem enough, but if you manage properly, you can easily work on those free 5GB. Firstly, let's see what is taking all the space in iCloud. Check what data you are having in iCloud and how much space it is talking. For this, go to Settings>Apple ID>iCloud>Manage Storage. The data which takes lots of iCloud storage space is:
Email messages containing attachments
iCloud backups
Photos
Videos
WhatsApp Backups
Photostream and the photos uploaded there don't take any space because these are stored locally on the device

 Manage photos

Photos take a lot of iCloud storage space. To reduce storage, exclude your photos from iCloud backups, then download them in your computer and delete them from iCloud storage. Steps to do so, Settings>Apple ID>iCloud>Manage Storage>Photos>Disable and Delete. Remember you won't be able to restore your photos from the iCloud backup later.

Back up iCloud photos to your PC
You can use CopyTrans Cloud for this purpose. All your photos will be stored on your PC or flash drives.

Delete photos from iCloud

Now erase photos from iCloud to create free space in iCloud storage. If you don't want the new pictures to be uploaded to iCloud, you can also disable your iCloud Photo Library.

Transfer the necessary pictures from PC to iPhone

If you want some images on your iPhone, you can use CopyTrans Photo app to transfer the photos.

iCloud Drive

You can save messages and WhatsApp chat history on PC with CopyTrans Contacts. Then, you may exclude WhatsApp from iCloud backup. The program allows you to save pictures and attachments in a separate folder on your computer.

Notes, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders
